Aloha Friday! Today was a difficult work day as I was working on a section longer then I expected. However, I do have some great news. I have been invited to the Project Team, where we will be designing and developing an actual game! I am super excited to be able to actually work on a working product that will show case the skills that I have learned through out this internship. Before I get into that, I want to finish up this course as soon as able. Sadly, I’m in a difficult section that is taking me some time to figure out.

I made some good progress this morning and was able to finish up the Guard AI section of the cinematography course. Here is working demo of it:

Ignore the guard on the left for now, I know that its walking in place but other then that, everything works pretty well. I also dipped a bit into the Coin Toss section and the idea is that if we throw a coin it should attract the guard towards it, allowing us to pass. However that is the difficult part, how to implement that guards to go to that coin and then having them return back to patrolling a few seconds later. I was stumped a bit and figured that refactoring some of the code I did for the Enemy AI might make it a bit easier on me. I am still working on some of it (the guard that was stuck was due to some of the refactoring I did), but I think I’m on the right direction. I plan to do some of this during the weekend and see if I can’t get myself to at least finish this part.

Overall this has been some slow progress compared to the other days but after this I plan to pick up the pace. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for reading!
