Game Dev in Progress… Day 1
Hello my name is Cristian Aspacio. Just recently got hired today to become a game developer!!! This exciting opportunity was given to me by ACI and GameDevHQ. Due to the ongoing pandemic COVID19, the government of Hawaii created a program called ACI to help people to find jobs after being displaced by the pandemic. ACI is working with GameDevHQ to foster new Software Engineers by putting them into a rigorous training program to develop there skills in game development. I’m excited and also very nervous…
The internship needs me to be at my best and also has a time limit of 73 days. Yep, 73 days of training and developing games. At the end of the internship, I should be ready to enter the work force with experience in developing games. I have a Bachelors in Computer Science and hopefully some of that knowledge can be useful in the following months. *Fingers crossed*
Video games is a hobby I’m very passionate about so having this opportunity is going to be rewarding in of itself. I’ve only developed miniature class projects on video games but never a fully developed one. I’m excited at the prospect of making one at the end of my internship as well as being able to work with other people.
Speaking of working with people, I have very little experience with working on a huge project. Other then some hackathons and school projects, I don’t really have any professional experience. I look forward to learning about the work culture and experience how it really is to work in a professional environment.
Anyways, that’s it from me. Writing is not my strongest skill set but I hope you enjoyed reading this. I have hundred things to do today so I got to get on that. Thank you for reading!!!!!
